LiveCompanion

Terms of sale and licence

Last updated: 25 October 2026

These terms apply to the purchase and use of LiveCompanion licences, the free trial and your account on livecompanion.app. LiveCompanion is developed and published by Sinewave Audio SAS (8 rue Maurice Bokanowski, 92600 Asnières-sur-Seine, France, SIREN 918 698 101), called "we" or "us" below. By creating an account, starting a trial or buying a licence, you accept these terms.

1. Who sells the licence

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. The sale itself, payment, invoicing, sales tax and refunds are governed by Paddle's buyer terms. These terms cover what you receive and how you may use the software.

2. The product

LiveCompanion is software for macOS, delivered by download from this website. It is sold as a licence in three tiers, Lite, Standard and Pro, which differ only by the features they include. The features of each tier are described on the pricing page. Please check the system requirements (a Mac with macOS 26 or later) and try the software for free before buying.

The free LiveCompanion Viewer app for iPhone and iPad is distributed separately through the App Store, under Apple's terms, and needs no licence.

3. Prices and payment

Each licence is a one-time payment, not a subscription. Prices on our website are shown in euros excluding VAT. The final price, including the sales tax that applies in your country, is shown in the Paddle checkout before you pay. Paddle accepts the payment methods offered in its checkout and sends you the invoice.

We may change our prices at any time. The price you pay is the one shown in the checkout when you order.

4. Delivery

Your licence key appears in your account on livecompanion.app as soon as Paddle confirms your payment, and we also send it to you by email. You can download the software from the download page.

5. Free trial

You can try LiveCompanion free of charge for 14 days, with all Pro features. One trial is allowed per account, and you may not create several accounts to get more trials. At the end of the trial, the software stops working until you buy a licence. No payment details are needed for the trial and it never turns into a paid purchase on its own.

6. Licence to use the software

When you buy a licence, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use LiveCompanion, for the tier you bought, for an unlimited period, subject to these terms. You do not buy the software itself: we keep all rights to it.

We may suspend or revoke a licence that is used in breach of these terms, or whose payment was refunded or charged back.

7. Upgrades and updates

You can upgrade your licence to a higher tier at any time from your account. You only pay the difference between the price of your current tier and the price of the new tier at the time of the upgrade. Your licence key stays the same. Upgrades are also sold by Paddle under the same conditions as licences.

Your licence includes the updates and bug fixes we publish for the version you bought. We may release a future major version as a separate paid product; if we do, the version you bought keeps working.

8. Refunds and right of withdrawal

If LiveCompanion does not suit you, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, as described in our refund policy. A refunded licence is deactivated. If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, Paddle's buyer terms also describe your statutory right of withdrawal.

9. Your account

You need an account to start a trial, buy a licence and manage your Macs. Keep your password secret: you are responsible for what is done with your account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time, as described in our privacy policy.

10. Warranty and liability

We take care to make LiveCompanion reliable, but live shows depend on many factors outside our control (hardware, network, audio setup, other software). Please test the software in your own setup before using it on stage and keep a backup plan. We do not guarantee that the software will be free of errors or work without interruption.

To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim related to a licence is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost revenue, a cancelled show or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content, or our liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to a purchase is the one in force on the day of the purchase. For changes that affect your existing licence, we will tell you by email beforehand.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. In case of a problem, please contact us first at contact@sinewaveaudio.fr: we will do our best to find a solution. Failing an amicable solution, disputes will be brought before the competent French courts, without prejudice to the rights consumers have to go to the courts of their own country.
